Tejal Patil, who served as a senior legal advisor for OYO (Oravel Stays), has joined Wipro as general counsel and senior vice-president. She has almost three decades of legal, governance, and compliance experience in Asia-Pacific.

As general counsel, Tejal Patil will oversee the legal & compliance, global data privacy, and government affairs departments. She will also be a member of the Wipro Executive Council.

Asmita Sawant, the director of transactions and intellectual property at Tata Technologies, was also hired by Wipro in June.
She has been employed by General Electric for more than 18 years, serving as in-house counsel for all of the company’s divisions, including GE Consumer and Industrial, GE Aviation, and GE Healthcare.
“I have received recognition for my outstanding contributions to the compliance ecosystem in India as well as for my leadership in the in-house community for many years,” Patil claimed.
Patil advised the CEO, senior management, and board of directors on risk and strategic matters in her capacity as general counsel for GE South Asia.
She managed technology innovation projects, cross-business and cross-border transactions, strategic partnership management, purchases, disposal of assets, joint venture partnerships, risk management, and assisting government advocacy.
